Fall 2017 Orientation

It’s almost time for orientation

Your college experience is already off to a great start because you’ve chosen Montana Western (recently ranked best in Montana by Money Magazine) to begin your education career.  We’ve put together an orientation program to help make the transition as seamless as possible.

Orientation is mandatory for all first year and transfer students and because it’s fun and informative — you want to attend.  Orientation events include: convocation (the official start of the school year ceremony), an inspirational talk by speaker Judson Laipply, a hike to the hillside “M” and much more.

If you are an athlete and will be coming to campus before Thursday, Aug. 24, you are still required to attend orientation. Your coach is aware of orientation and expects you to attend so you can be successful in and out of the classroom.

Please check in at the orientation table on Thursday, Aug. 24, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. located in front of Davis Hall (750 E. Cornell, Dillon Mont. on your GPS).

Topic

Life is Change

Socrates once said, “Perfection is constant change.” Life is change. Day in and day out the thing that remains constant is change. Judson combines laughter inducing stories with thought-provoking ideas to drive home the point that we are in the constant presence of change. His stories, personal experiences, crowd participation, high energy, and laughter help people recognize how to let go of the things out of their control, and focus their energies on things they can change. Judson’s finale, The Evolution Of Dance will leave your audience with an unforgettable message, one which will remind each participant that “Life is Change,” and that they have the ultimate control over the outcome.
