Visiting Artist Lecture: Mike Souza
Mike Souza is an expert in scientific glassblowing at Princeton University. The University’s only scientific glassblower, he creates highly complex glassware that furthers scientific research in the chemistry department, and for almost all other research groups on campus.
He crafts the proof-of-concept pieces used to support new patents as well as vacuum manifolds and high pressure cells used in optical-spin exchange experiments for the physics department, like those made for high energy experiments at the Stanford Linear Accelerator.
He is a guest of the glassblowing program here on campus, and will be sharing his process and research with a lecture and demonstration! Coffee, cider, and cookies will be provided.
