Community Invited to Send-Off Event for Senior Baleigh Doyle

A special send-off event for Baleigh Doyle, a senior at Montana Western, will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 11 from 5-6 p.m. in the Lewis and Clark Room on the UMW Campus.

Doyle will be competing in the Miss Montana USA pageant competition in Missoula, Mont. on Sept. 15-16, 2018. As a Miss Montana USA contestant, Doyle will highlight her platform, “bringing awareness to women in STEM-related fields.”

She will be representing southwest Montana with her current title: Miss Dillon USA. The Miss Montana USA competition focuses on improving the lives of each participant.

During the event, contestants will participate in various seminars, self-esteem enhancing discussions, photo-shoots, and rehearsals. They will also learn about scholarship opportunities.

Pioneer Federal Savings and Loan and Doyle’s family and friends are sponsoring and providing support during her journey to the competition.

Doyle grew up in Parker, Colo. before coming to Dillon, Mont. Her grandfather, from Deer Lodge, Mont. gave her a tour of Montana Western. She quickly fell in love with the university and community.

Doyle plans to graduate in December 2018 with a double major in mathematics and business. While at Montana Western, she received an internship opportunity and became a member of the Montana Space Grant Consortium (MSGC). MSGC provided funding for her summer 2017 and 2018 internships.

Doyle was the Engineering Development Program Evaluation Data Analysis intern for the Engineering Director at Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in Greenbelt, Maryland. She plans to return to NASA after competing in the Miss Montana USA pageant.
